After almost a decade of fundraising, the HRH Family Physician group has proudly exceeded their fundraising goal and raised $281,327 (which is well over their original target of $250,000)!

In total, 86 family physicians gave personal gifts and multi-year pledges and most recently, we had powerful matching gift initiatives led by Dr. Seong Choe and Dr. Bharat and Dr. Sheila Shah.

“Together, we have impacted the lives of millions of people in our community and in fact we have become part of our patients’ lives,” says Dr. Arthur Kushner. “And now this lasting legacy in the Hospital will stand as a symbol of our commitment to all who we serve.”

In addition to coming together to fundraise for their Hospital, Humber’s family physicians continue to go above and beyond their general practice roles for their patients and their community. In response to the the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic, they have volunteered to support Humber River Hospital’s initiatives such as staffing Vaccination Clinics.

In recognition of their group gift, Meeting Room 4 on Level 3 of the Hospital has officially been dedicated to the HRH Department of Family and Community Medicine.

Earlier this year when Humber River Hospital was running its COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Level 3 of the Hospital, thousands of people used this room for their 15-minute recovery time post-shot, with the new donor signage permanently on display.
