In Memory of Barry and Honey Sherman
We, at the Humber River Hospital and the Hospital Foundation, are shocked and saddened by the deaths of Barry and Honey Sherman. We mourn the loss of these wonderful members of our community whose compassion and dedication to advancing healthcare have had an immense impact on our community, our country and beyond.
Barry and Honey Sherman were tremendous philanthropists who gave generously to many causes and asked for very little in return. We were one of the recipients of the Sherman’s generosity and commitment to the community. The Sherman Foundation and Apotex are the Foundation’s largest donors and have had a relationship with the Hospital for over 30 years.
The new Humber River Hospital opened two years ago with an Emergency Department that bears the Apotex name—the result of a transformational gift made when the Hospital was still under construction. The Apotex Emergency Department makes a daily impact on our patients, physicians and staff, touching the lives of so many people that the Shermans will never meet. We proudly display it in recognition of their philanthropic and community-minded legacy.
Our heartfelt condolences go to the Shermans’ family, close friends and Apotex work family who share their vision of innovating for patient affordability.
